The first 10 minutes after you wake up are the most influential so it’s important to have a mindful routine and ritual in place to make sure your mind and body are happy, not just from the start, but throughout your day.
Below are 7 KEY morning habits that will change your life.
1. NO SNOOZE
Choose a time to get up and tell yourself the snooze button isn’t even an option.
Stretching first thing in the morning has several health benefits, including muscle and joint flexibility, stress relief, and improved circulation.
About 60% of your body is made of water. After sleeping for 7 – 8 hours without water, your parched body is practically begging to be replenished. Appease it!!
Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. There are so many health benefits to eating a healthy breakfast.
This my absolute favorite morning routine! I start my morning with some upbeat music. You may prefer something calming and relaxing. Whatever you choose, be sure it makes you feel good and it charges your morning.
6. NO PHONE
When you go to bed at night, turn off your notifications! I know you may be thinking, “what about emergencies?” . Utilize the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature. That feature on most phones, will allow the option for your phone to push calls through if someone calls back to back within an 3 minute time frame.
When you choose to read a positive, encouraging book, article, or quote, this practice is something that will make a huge difference throughout your day. So turn off the music, keep the phone off, and take a few moments to soak your mind in words.
